bits & bobs (updates)

  • This is a good week. Not only did I get a photo essay on Lebanon published today on rabble.ca, but I bought a big pickup truck (a grey Chevy Silverado 2500 diesel with extended cab) and also a new home: a truck camper, which I'll haul around with me like a snail hauls its shell. The camper is an Adventurer 90FWS - about 16 feet long with lots of room inside: a queen-size bedroom over the cab, kitchen & dinette, washroom/shower, storage. So excited!
  • Briarpatch magazine, of Regina SK, published my article on Lebanon and the Arab Awakening in its most recent July/August issue, as well as three photos. Featuring interviews with organizers in Lebanon and Canada, this article asks how the Middle East uprisings are affecting Lebanon, and what has been happening there in the five years since the 2006 Lebanon/Israel war.
